Complex Multiplayer Escape Room Prototype

One of the more intricate jobs I’ve worked, for which I was solely responsible for all Unreal Engine work. Not only is it incredibly complex, but it also works 100% in a networked multiplayer environment, with multiple successful playtests conducted.

Asset packs were provided for 3D models, and some custom artwork such as the hand logo and painting was provided.

Puzzles were described via documentation and I was tasked with matching the designer’s vision for interactivity (such as the chess pieces that restrict their movement to the available spots on the board), visual accents (such as the light that bounces around the ceiling to match the position of the puzzles on the board, or the lantern that causes invisible text to glow on different surface types.

Intricate technical art was involved with applying the invisible text to both images, text objects, and also transparency-based decals. The potion-blending logic with furnace, distiller, mixing and liquid division is some of my finest blueprint work.
